You could also take a boat to the beautiful Ssese islands which is an archipelago comprising of 84 islands. Each Island is accessible via a motorized boat and has unique and interesting things to see and do like birds, butterflies, chimpanzees, nature walk and sightseeing.
Rwenzori Mountains National Park
The park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most visited places in Uganda. Rwenzori Mountains National Park is home to the scenic Ruwenzori Mountains which are a destination for exciting activities. The mountains provide grounds for nature walks, mountain climbing, birding and cultural encounters. The park also has scenic vegetation, glaciers, small lakes and waterfalls.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National park is also a UNESCO heritage site and is located in south West Uganda. The park is famous for Gorilla trekking. It is home to Bwindi gorillas, Colobus Monkey and Chimpanzees. The park is home to over 2oo butterflies species, 350 bird species and many wild animals. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park also provides grounds for cycling and mountain climbing.
Murchison Falls National park
Murchison Falls National Park also known as Kabarega National Park is the place to visit if you want to see the big five in Uganda. Four animals of the big five are found here; leopards, buffalos, lions and elephants. There are also other animals like Uganda kob, hartebeest, hippos, giraffes and antelopes. Murchison Falls is also a site to behold. It is one of the breathtaking sites on a Uganda safari holiday.
