Day One-Entebbe

At Entebbe International Airport you will be received and welcomed by our driver/guide who will then drive you from the airport to Malakai Eco Lodge (about 25Km) for a sumptuous dinner and accommodation.

Day Two-Kibale Forest National Park

Our guide will meet you at the lodge and take you on a 5 to 6 hours scenic drive to Fort portal. At Fort Portal you will stop for lunch and later proceed to Kibale Guest Cottages where you will spend the night. On arrival you will check in and then set out on a guided walk in Bigodi Swamp. The area is home to beautiful and rare bird species like the blue throated Roller and the shining blue kingfisher among other species.

Day Three-Kibale Forest National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast you will head to Kanyanchu Park headquarters for a briefing at 8.00 AM. At 9.00 AM you will set out on an exciting guided nature walk and Chimpanzee trek in Kibale National Park. You will have the pleasure of seeing primates like chimpanzees, Colobus monkeys and bush babies among others and also the beautiful flora of the forest. You will spend about an hour with the Chimpanzees before embarking on a 3 hours drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way you will see the famous Kasese Copper mining town, wild animals, and Rwenzori Mountains.

You will check-in in one of the lodges below and later go on an evening crater drive at the scenic Katwe explosion craters which comprise of forested, dry and water-filled craters. An evening game drive in the Kasenyi plains will be the peak of your day before going back to the lodge for dinner.

Day Four: Queen Elizabeth National Park

This day will start very early in the morning. You will be served a light breakfast of tea/coffee and snacks before proceeding to a beautiful game drive. The morning hours are ideal for spotting several animals like buffalos in huge herds, Uganda kobs, lions, hippos as they graze, warthogs and Albertine rift valley bird species.

After this early drive you will go back to the lodge where you will be served heavy breakfast and then relax as you wait for lunch.

After lunch you will set out for an exciting 2 hours boat cruising journey on the Kazinga Channel. Kazinga Channel joins Lakes George and Edward. The boat cruise is perfect for watching animals at close range. Some of the animals you will see as you cruise are Nile crocodiles, waterbucks, hippos and a variety of bird species.

Afterwards you will head back to the lodge for dinner and accommodation.

Day Five-Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Wake up to a well prepared breakfast by the friendly lodge staff. Afterwards, with packed lunches you will set out for a mid-morning game drive. You will explore the famous Southern Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will see tree climbing lions. Later on you will proceed southwards to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park where you will have dinner and spend the night in any of the camps/lodges below.

Day Six-Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

On this day you will take an early breakfast and get ready for the most exciting experience of your Uganda safari. Our driver will pick you from the lodge/camp and take you to the park’s headquarters. There you will be briefed on mountain gorilla families and gorilla trekking in general. At 9:00 AM you will head to the forest where your day with mountain gorillas will officially start.

The gorilla trekking safari will involve a climb through the steep rocky forest. The number of hours to be spent on this exciting activity-which could be anything between 3 hours to a whole day-depends on the gorilla’s movements around the forest. Apart from mountain gorillas you will also have the pleasure of seeing other primates like the Colobus monkey, the Velvet monkey, the grey-cheeked Mangabeys, the red tailored monkey plus a number of bird species. This will be a tiring day but the exhaustion will be nothing compared to the experience of spending time with the beautiful monkey gorillas. This is a lifetime experience.

In the afternoon, depending on time you will visit the neighboring community and interact with the villagers. You will enjoy entertainment from them and learn a few things about their culture. In the evening you’ll head back to the lodge where you’ll be served dinner and spend the night.

Day Seven-Kampala      

On this final day you will head back to Kampala after a nicely prepared breakfast. You will enjoy the beautiful nature views of the Kigezi sub-region as you drive along the way. The Kigezi sub-region has been likened to Switzerland and is referred to as the Switzerland of Africa. Along the way you will make stops to take photos and lunch at Mbarara town. You will also make a stop at the Equator for an informative talk before proceeding to Kampala where your safari will end.
